(... a very interesting editorial in which the author reviews a recent study in Colombia and other data that contradict the assertions by gun control opponents and some econometric researchers who claim that if more US citizens carried guns, it would reduce and prevent crime rather than increase the incidence of crime. The author states the Colombian data also suggest that without such a high level of enforcement of gun-carrying laws in the United States [currently] , the rate of homicide most likely would be far higher.
